First Event Turnout Puts Campaign on Solid Ground

The All-Saints event Tuesday night, benefiting Megan Loughner, Doug Weimer and Camdon Porterfield, was widely considered a great success. Republicans and Democrats alike showed up to sign petitions and affirm allegiances to the candidates.

Porterfield, who only needed a total of 20 signatures from Hempfield residents, racked up 19 Republicans and six Democrats. The campaign estimates that by Thursday night, the 10-signature threshold on the Democrat petition will also be met and exceeded.
